Our Story

Kirei is a vintage love story…..

In 2015 we set out to create a timeless women’s collection from natural fabrics with interesting textures, patterns and embroideries, effortless clothing that could be worn in many ways, for many years. We are constantly inspired by our own ever-growing vintage finds. At the start of each new season, we sit down with our most exciting finds—from the vintage cushions from Jaipur to French laces from St Tropez’s numerous brocante markets and begin to create our own story.

The brand is about beautiful, unique and timeless collections of clothes, home ideas and accessories that will be treasured for years to come...Kirei (pronounced ‘kee-ray’) means beautiful in Japanese.

Each item we design is specially made with natural fabrics and gorgeous laces and trims, to make you feel special.

Our collections develop with each journey we make and we are proud to see our brand grow organically.

We produce our collection in one of our favourite countries …India where we have a beautiful inspirational working space in central Delhi . We travel out to meet our Indian Kirei family and discuss the production of our fabrics and clothes with the local artisans there.

Our vision is to create a lifestyle shop on line where we can showcase an eclectic mix of beautiful clothes, home ideas and accessories. It was important to be able to find and source these products from all over the world and bring them together to create a mixture of vintage inspired clothes to ethically sourced bags and hats all the way from Madagascar! It is work in progress and each season we discover something new and different that we want to share with you.

We hope you will enjoy wearing and using our precious pieces as much as we love creating them...

Giving back….Charities close to our hearts

CHETNA is a charity that we love…they strongly believe in the empowerment of children.

Children in Delhi live in difficult circumstances not by choice but because they have to. The street children in Delhi can sometimes be “invisible” with no birth certificates they cannot register for school and therefore it is a vicious cycle.

Team Kirei organize visits to the various CHETNA centres and meet with the children and volunteers. It is an incredibly rewarding experience to see the work that CHETNA are doing! We contribute when we can to this worthy cause. Please see the link for more information.

Team Kirei also take part in many fundraising events for charities in the UK. We completed the 100km “night cycle ride” around London for the Red Cross.

Last year we took part in the “Round the Island cycle challenge in Ibiza” raising funds to build a new respiratory ward at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

Sharing with the people that need it most and giving back to the children in India where our garments are made is key to our brand ethos.

Ethical and Sustainable

Our textile creation process reflects our respect and admiration for our environment. We use natural fibres in all of our designs and source all these raw materials from local sources.

All our web orders are delivered in a natural 100% cotton bag that is made by one of our small factories.  Garments are wrapped in tissue paper inside the bag. Where possible we try to limit the use of plastic.
